• Won the 2021 US Open Women’s Singles title, becoming the first British female player to win a major since 1977; the first qualifier in the Open Era to win a major title (10 matches total), doing so without dropping a set; and the record-holder for least amount of majors played before winning one (Wimbledon 2021 only previous)
• Born in Canada to a Romanian father and Chinese mother before moving to London as a small child; speaks English, Romanian, and Mandarin
• Completed her A-Levels in math and economics prior to playing 2021 Wimbledon in the hopes of going into finance
